Is there anything more in depth than the CPhT certification and if so what jobs is it best for?

Where am I?

Certainly.  The C.S.P.T. for example and the upcoming CPhT-Adv. There is a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician role, but those positions are quite rare.

As for job suitability, I believe the C.PhT. serves all pharmacy technicians across the spectrum of our field in that it distinguishes those who have taken an step in their professional development and utility as a technician.

This role is ever-expanding currently, but I would say that (nationally) there is an increasing demand from hospitals for certified pharmacy technicians; in particular for the sterile-compounding practice.
