Asked a question last year

Will there ever come a time when a pharmacy technician can remain in the pharmacy when the pharmacist is not there?

Where am I?

That would be up to your state board. There may be states that currently allow for this while a pharmacist  takes a break.  Definitely there should be guidance on what is and isn’t allowed to occur while the pharmacist is out.

For my hospital, a pharmacist is required to be on-duty, but not physically in the pharmacy, such as during codes or other similar temporary situations, as the technicians are allowed to remain and work within their preparatory-scope.
